Dear friend and neighbours,
I have been working diligently to address issues in District 7. I have engaged with residents, communicated with staff, and presented at Regional Council meetings. I am happy to announce that we have successfully placed hundreds of signs across District 7. Thank you for your support from me and my team.
City Hall:
Regional Council
The most recent in-person meeting of the current Regional Council took place on October 10th, and the remaining Council meetings will be conducted virtually. During the meeting, I addressed the issue of the land swap for the central park in the new Cogswell District, Granville Park. I was the only member of the public to speak at the meeting. I emphasized the need for improved public engagement, citing the lack of public participation in the discussion. I also noted that the City Council had the opportunity to purchase the land in 1977 at a much lower cost than the current arrangement. While the full details of the land swap were not disclosed, I stressed the importance of increasing greenspace in the Cogswell District, especially with the planned high-rises. Retaining as much of the Cogswell area in public ownership is crucial for the community’s benefit.
